Korinnia: a Charity Foundation for Ukraine
Giving is not only about making a donation. It is about making a difference.
Korinnia is Ukraine’s charity foundation.
Ukraine is a beautiful country with a hospitable nation. It is the biggest country in Europe, with a stunning landscape and the most fertile land on earth. It is known as the breadbasket of Europe and the world.
On 24 August 1991, Ukraine gained independence after the collapse of the Soviet Union. But unfortunately, the 90s were complicated in Eastern Europe.
In 2004, Ukraine witnessed its first revolution where it wanted to gain global recognition on the world stage as a country seeking democracy, liberty, and a better quality of life. Some things have improved for only a few years, but it was still challenging. Once again, these dreams didn’t last when politics and government changed the country’s course between 2008 and 2013, and corruption was rampant, causing the currency to devaluate.
In 2013 the biggest revolution started when Ukraine decided to break free from the Russian influence and stand for its values of living in freedom and maintaining democratic values.

But unfortunately, in 2014, Russia invaded Ukraine, took Crimea under its sphere, started a war in the eastern part of Ukraine, and indirectly occupied two of Ukraine’s vital states. As a result, Ukraine’s currency value was reduced three to four times. As a result, many people who used to earn a decent amount lost their money and could barely live month to month. For example, a family making 9,000 Hryvnia, UAH (Ukraine Currency), was 1,125 USD (1 USD = 8 Hryvnia). In 2015, the Hryvnia fell, and the same family would still earn 9,000 Hryvnia, but the equivalence reached 300 USD. People also lost money in their banks due to bankruptcy and corruption. The situation was very challenging.
Charity:
Korinnia’s founder, Maxim, since 2012, has yearly contributed to families who need help and children via his network of contacts and friends. When the war erupted in 2014, he increased his contributions and donations to Ukraine and helped volunteers in their battle for their homes and land. However, he would contribute and donate without publicly mentioning his care without any public appearance.
His primary focus shifted to children’s orphanages and social rehabilitation centers for children. But unfortunately, these centers were not adequately funded and always struggled in receiving budgets because most budgets would go into infrastructure and military aid.
Maxim also focused on helping families directly, especially the ones in distress. For example, many single mothers work and rely on their mothers (grandmothers) to help their children. Maxim helps them directly by funding school materials for their children such as notebooks, laptops, computers, books, bags, and clothing when required.
Recent Events:
Russia’s war on Ukraine caused massive destruction, and the effect of the war caused every single household in Ukraine to suffer. In addition, there are around 9 million displaced due to Russia’s attack and bombardment of civilian areas in the country. The numbers keep increasing because Russia keeps advancing and attacking new cities and regions. Approximately 3 million people have fled the country, and 6 million are displaced due to war.

It is tough to live in Ukraine in regular times, and this war has completely destroyed day-to-day life. People have no income since businesses have stopped. Funding and budgets are limited. So there is a real struggle.
Help Ukraine and help people:
Korinnia decided to expand its reach with its charity foundation and with helping people. However, there is a massive problem in helping everyone, so Korinnia needs help from everyone to reach social rehabilitation centers and help as many people as possible.
